Law enforcement officers were in for a shock when they found more than fifty dogs in a Texas home filled with trash. It was a dilapidated home full of heaps of feces. Their surprise knew no bounds when they found the homeowner still inhabiting the home. They rescued these dogs along with the volunteers of The Humane Society of North Texas. They visited this property on April 12 in respirators and Hazmat suits due to high ammonia levels.
Dogs Were Found In Bad Condition
According to the Director of Communications of The Humane Society of North Texas, Cassie Davidson, "We were shocked to see the dogs in a home with three feet of feces all around. Removing the dogs from the house was a grueling and tiring work. It seemed to be endless". As per the authorities, these dogs had been living in such squalid conditions for quite some time. The dogs were found in a very bad condition, with flea infestation and various skin-related diseases. Due to their prolonged stay in unsanitary living conditions, many of them suffered from hair loss. Many dogs were suffering from intestinal parasite affliction that included whipworms, roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms
Homeowner Was Living In The Same Home!
Many female dogs were found to be pregnant, and many had just given birth to puppies. The puppies, along with moms, were found to be covered with feces. They had nowhere to go and were in utterly deplorable condition. Many of them were found covered in 3-feet compacted fecal and urine matter. The whole place was in bad condition, and surprisingly the homeowner was also living in the home with the dogs.
Rescued Dogs are Getting Best Attention
The rescued dogs are under the care of the Humane Society in North Texas. The volunteers are treating them for various ailments and getting the best medical care. They are getting the best attention they deserve and desperately need. Many female dogs had just given birth to puppies with more deliveries in the offing. The Humane Society is actively looking for donations and foster families to help these dogs find a loving home. As per Davidson, they are actively looking for help as these voiceless creatures need a lot of care. It is unfortunate that such instances of abuse must be immediately reported to stop these voiceless souls from being abused and mistreated.
The dogs are now convalescing under the Humane Society's care and soon would be ready for adoption.
