Jefferson County, CO – Two Killed in Four-Vehicle Collision on US-285 - Burg Simpson

Jefferson County, CO (August 27, 2021) – Two people have lost their lives following a motor vehicle accident in Jefferson County on Thursday. At approximately 3:40 p.m., on August 26, emergency crews were notified that a crash on US Highway 285 required assistance. Reports from the Colorado State Patrol show that four vehicles collided on US Highway 285 in the area of mile marker 232. The incident caused severe delays in traffic as the highway was completely shut down between Pine Junction and Conifer as crews worked to clear the scene. Four people sustained severe injuries in the accident. One adult was pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other victims were admitted to area hospitals in serious and critical condition. A child was pronounced deceased after arriving at the hospital. At this time, the incident remains under investigation. Our thoughts are with the victims injured in this accident.
