Lock Haven man arrested for homicide by vehicle - Lock Haven Express

MILL HALL — A 52-year-old Lock Haven man is behind bars after leaving the scene of a fatal accident on Aug. 25. According to state police at Lamar, William Honetor crashed his 2003 Chevrolet Silverado into a private residence along Pennsylvania Avenue in Bald Eagle Township, Clinton County. At the scene, police found a 76-year-old Lock Haven man inside the vehicle. He was in the passenger’s seat and was unresponsive. The man was transported to UPMC Lock Haven, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle, Honetor, had fled the scene on foot, police said. Through investigation, it was discovered that prior to the crash, the victim was at a local establishment with the driver consuming alcoholic beverages. After crashing into the home, police said, Honetor kept driving and struck a utility pole. He then climbed over the passenger to exit the vehicle. On Aug. 28, an arrest warrant was obtained for Honetor through magisterial district justice 25-3-02, John W. Maggs. Honetor was taken into custody and transported to the Clinton County Correctional Facility on charges of homicide by vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, accidents involving death or personal injury, accident involving damage to attended property/vehicle, DUI and reckless driving. Bail was set at $50,000.
