Fidelity Investments to add 2,000 new DFW-based jobs in 2021 - Dallas Business Journal - Dallas Business Journal

Fidelity Investments is creating thousands of new jobs, expanding its employee base company-wide, and increasing its North Texas workforce by about 2,000 roles in 2021.

The company announced Tuesday it created 9,000 roles across the country which, following a spate of 4,000 new jobs this spring, will double the firm's amount of hires in 2020. Dallas-Fort Worth has already seen 1,100 new Fidelity hires and is on track for as many more by the end of 2021.

"By the end of the year is the plan. It is a war for talent," Orr said. "We are, just like every firm out there, working very diligently to recruit as many good solid employees as we can. And that is a challenge because we have a lot of competition, not only from other financial services firms but from really all professional firms that are hiring. It is definitely an interesting time right now, but we thought we have a great culture a lot to offer."

The North Texas hires will likely be at least 70% client-facing positions, Orr said, and the company's Westlake campus has 35 business units to spread jobs across.

Orr added a majority of the new roles will be entry-level, and Fidelity will offer training for various securities license tests as well. Fidelity will recruit locally and nationwide for the Dallas-Fort Worth roles, and the positions will not be solely serving North Texas customers. In the last year, Fidelity had already said it would create more than 800 new jobs in North Texas.

The Boston-based company isn't the only financial services firm expanding its presence in North Texas.
