Judge sends three Saginaw County sexual assailants to prison in one afternoon - MLive.com

SAGINAW, MI — In one afternoon, a Saginaw County judge sentenced three men convicted of various sex crimes against minors to prison.
Of the three convicts, the one with the lengthiest term could be behind bars for nearly half a century.
Saginaw County Chief Circuit Judge Darnell Jackson sentenced the three defendants on Monday, Aug. 30. Their cases are unrelated.
Jackson sentenced 50-year-old Desi L. Henderson to three terms of 30 to 50 years and one term of four to 10 years in prison. The terms are concurrent with one another.
Jackson gave Henderson credit for 771 days already served in the county jail. He also ordered Henderson to pay $402 in court costs and fines within 60 days.
A jury in July found Henderson guilty of three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a victim 13 or younger and one count of disseminating sexually explicit material to a minor.
During the trial, a 10-year-old girl testified Henderson began sexually abusing her when she was 4. She said that one day in June 2019, Henderson took her into a basement and sexually assaulted her. Afterward, she and her siblings called their mother who was at work and told her of the abuse.
The mother in turn notified police and took her daughter to a hospital for an evaluation.
After the verdicts came down, defense attorney James F. Piazza said there was no physical evidence to corroborate the girl’s allegations.
He added that Henderson planned to appeal the jury’s findings.
