Videos with the hashtag #BookTok have amassed a collective 18.1 billion views, at the time of writing. This community of users on TikTok who post videos reviewing and recommending books has caught the attention of publishers, sending old books back to the top of bestseller lists and helping uncover emerging authors to launch their careers.
TikTok’s short form take on social video is no barrier to great literary content. From straight reviews and readings to comedic skits and more, content is helping to build conversation and community across a youthful user base and the next generation of literature fans.
