Simpson Co, MS (September 2, 2021) – A fatal auto accident was reported in Simpson County on Wednesday morning, September 1.
The deadly crash occurred at around 5:20 a.m. according to local reports. The incident took place on MS-149 at the D’Lo bridge. Eyewitness accounts revealed that the fatal collision involved a bicycle and a motor vehicle.
Local sources indicated that 44-year-old Damon M. Robinson of Braxton was headed southbound on the highway in a 1991 Dodge Dakota. While Robinson was crossing the bridge, he hit a cyclist. The rider was later identified as 27-year-old Cassandra O. Blackley of Laurel. She sustained fatal injuries. Responding paramedics pronounced Blackley dead at the scene.
No further updates have been provided at this time. An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
