Patriots hunt CPL play-off place on the weekend | Loop Cayman Islands - Loop News Cayman

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots could become the first team to cement a place in the 2021 Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) this weekend.

Simon Helmot's team is top of the CPL table with a maximum of 10 points from five matches.

The Patriots face fifth-placed St Lucia Kings twice this weekend and will clinch a place in the playoffs with two wins.

The Patriots face the Kings on Saturday at 10 am and then on Sunday at the same time.

However, the Patriots will not have it easy as the Kings are coming off a 51-run victory over the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Thursday morning.

The St Lucia Franchise made it to the finals of the 2020 CPL, while the Patriots finished last and did not make the playoffs.

The Patriots last made it to the CPL playoffs in 2019, losing to the Knight Riders in the Eliminator.

The other four teams involved in the tournament play only once this weekend.

The Barbados Royals face the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Saturday at 2:30 pm, while the Jamaica Tallawahs take on the Trinbago Knight Riders on Sunday at the same time.
