The Philadelphia Business Journal has extended the nomination period for the 2021 Best of the Bar Awards and the inaugural Amber Racine Award until Sept. 10.
The annual Best of the Bar program, now in its fifth year, honors Philadelphia-area attorneys who within the last 12 months have distinguished themselves in their practice specialties. Categories for this year's awards are business litigation, white-collar criminal defense litigation, employment litigation, intellectual property litigation, plaintiff personal injury litigation, bankruptcy, corporate, real estate, tax/employee benefits, in-house counsel, and pro bono.

This year, as part of the Best of the Bar Awards, the Business Journal is celebrating the legacy of former Raynes Lawn Hehmeyer lawyer Amber Racine, who passed away last November at the age of 38.
The inaugural Amber Racine Award will be presented to a lawyer under the age of 40 in the Philadelphia region who most possesses the personal and professional qualities of Racine. Specifically, the Business Journal is seeking lawyers who have shown over the course of their careers not only a commitment to professional excellence but also a passion for service to the profession and community; mentorship; leadership; integrity; and uplifting minority lawyers, particularly Black women.
