Miss Cayman Islands Universe contestants will take a tour around Grand Cayman from 9am to 4pm today as they promote the final night of the pageant to be held at the Westin hotel on September 11.
The contestants will be transported around the Island in jeeps provided by Hertz Grand Cayman and Andy’s Rent-A-Car. Some of the scheduled stops that they will make include Heroes Square in George Town, the Cayman Turtle Centre in West Bay and Heritage Park in East End.
Members of the public are encouraged to come out and show their support for the contestants as they participate in the motorcade. Whether it is by the wave of a hand or the beep of a horn, the contestants will appreciate the acknowledgement as they look forward to the final night.
The motorcade is only one of the many events leading up to the final night. Each event is important as it prepares contestants in a particular way-- from public speaking classes and lessons in etiquette, to name a few.
In addition, as indicated on the Miss Cayman Islands Universe website, the intent is not to simply develop a future pageant queen, but a future ambassador of the Cayman Islands who will represent the nation both locally and internationally.
