The WNY COVID-19 Working Group released a statement Saturday dispelling common myths about masking, fatality rates and vaccines that are circulating on social media.
The letter was signed by leaders from local health care organizations including the University at Buffalo, Kaleida Health and Catholic Health, to encourage wearing masks in crowded or indoor settings.
It also advises people to receive a full vaccination series, which the health care professionals say have much lower risks than the virus itself.
