Jackson, MS (September 04, 2021) – Robert Smith, a former Hinds County District Attorney, is hospitalized in critical condition after being involved in a car accident on Wednesday, September 1st.
Smith sustained critical injuries in a car crash on Lynch Street during a heavy downpour in Jackson. Sources said he had just left his office in the area when the crash took place.
Eyewitnesses said a speeding driver crashed into Smith’s car.
Smith was transported by paramedics to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in critical condition.
Smith served 12 years as district attorney. He did not run for a fourth term in 2019.
