Texas Tech erased a 21-7 halftime deficit with a 31-0 run in the second half to open the season with a big win over Houston on the backs of an aggressive, opportunistic defense and some big plays on offense. Texas Tech returns home to Lubbock for games against Stephen F. Austin and Florida International before opening Big 12 play against Texas in Austin on Sept. 25.
