Link Academy has already attracted marquee national recruits and will play a national schedule. He was briefly at Southern California Academy before it was announced Sunday that he was joining Link Academy.
The 6-7 Walsh, a four-star recruit, is rated the 11th-best small forward in the nation in the Class of 2022 in the 247Sports composite rankings.
Walsh was a second-team all-area selection last season after averaging 18 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, 2.4 steals and 2.3 blocks for a 25-6 team. He led Faith Family to the Class 4A state semifinals, where it lost 43-39 to eventual state champion Argyle.
It was the third consecutive season that Faith Family reached at least the state semifinals after previously never having been to state.
Walsh is the third prominent local player to leave the area since last season and to now be playing for an out-of-state prep program.
