People sometimes joke about anime addiction, but in Japan, it's a real problem. However, in Japan, it's called "Otaku." It is used as an actual diagnosis for anyone suffering from an affliction that causes extreme withdrawal symptoms if they cannot watch their favorite television series or graphic novels.

"Japan was an origin for this type of media which has led thousands upon thousands of young individuals (and even adults) to become fully immersed into watching such shows or movies so much." ~JPN news.

These individuals are serious addicts who have an incredible passion for watching their favorite series or reading graphic novels called comics.

"Otaku can affect people in different ways. It's like when you play video games: some people are able to stop playing after one sitting, while others have trouble stopping at all." A therapist explained.

Calling anime fans "addicts" can be damaging and problematic, but it could also apply to many viewers. We mustn't label people as addicts without considering the consequences.

This addiction can have the following effects on your personality:

● Enhance your communication skills.

● Teach you meaningful concepts daily.

● Teach you exceptional skills like hard work, patience, and teamwork.

● Your smile brightens up even the worst of moods.

● Immerse you in vivid colors regularly.

● Make your imaginations strong.

● Teach you life lessons.

● Teach you to have fun.

"Have you ever felt like no one understands what it's like to be yourself? Or that the people in your life just can't relate, even though they seem interested." asked a depressed teenager.

" I know how you feel because I have been through similar consequences once. All of us have been through the situations you mentioned in our lives." the reporter replied.

He further explained, "This is where the addiction of anime worked for me. My friend suggested that I dive into the world of anime. This is when I started to look on the internet to find the best source to watch anime. I searched and tried different sources but 9anime worked best for me."

For many people, anime provides a much-needed escape from the struggles in their daily lives. They can relate to characters that face similar problems as them and feel less alone in this world. "Anime has multiple benefits: such as helping with mental health issues or developing creativity skills by learning different styles of animation techniques used for creating these shows," said an animator.

In his essay "Anime Conventions as Addictive Substances," author Jonah Stephenson argues that the behaviors of Japanese animation or anime fans, particularly their social conventions like collecting and discussing, are just like addictions.

They can be good in moderation, but when taken to extremes, they become damaged and consuming. Anime conventions for otakus serve as a modern-day Woodstock where people gather en masse every few months at these massive gatherings in convention centers worldwide.

"Instead of being a part of the community with drug addicts, we would like to stay in touch with more in the world of anime and manga lovers." said a group of high school students.
