The Guyana Amazon Warriors beat the St Lucia Kings by 17 runs to hold on to a playoff spot in the 2021 Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
With the Jamaica Tallawahs beating St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Wednesday morning, the Amazon Warriors needed to win to maintain fourth place in the table.
The Amazon Warriors, batting first, posted 151/6 in their 20 overs with Brandon King hitting a tournament-high 77 off 57 balls.
The Kings recovered from 43/3 through Roston Chase (40) and Tim David (47 not out).
However, Odean Smith (2/12) took two wickets and conceded only three runs in the 19th over to leave the Kings needing 27 off the final over.
The Kings ended on 134/4, losing by 17 runs, their first loss after three straight wins.
