Garland, TX. (September 8, 2021)- 28-year-old Karla Rico was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on September 6, 2021 in Garland, Texas. The accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the Garland Avenue and Miller Road intersection. Police reported that driver of a Honda Accord was being pursued by officers when they ran a red light and struck a westbound Toyota driven by Rico. The Accord then struck a Honda CRV that was stopped at the intersection. Rico was pronounced dead at the scene. Rico’s 10-year-old son was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The driver of the CRV was treated at the scene. The driver of the Accord faces charges of murder and evading arrest. No further details have been provided at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
