Hazlehurst, GA – Explosion at Hazlehurst Wood Pellets Leaves 4 Injured - Burg Simpson

Hazlehurst, GA (September 4, 2021) – An explosion incident reported in Hazlehurst on Thursday evening ended in injuries. At around 4:30 p.m., on September 2, emergency crews were requested at the scene of an explosion at the Hazlehurst Wood Pellets.
Reports from authorities show that a fiery explosion took place during the early evening hours. Crews rushed to the scene to secure the area and battle the blaze. Reports from the Jeff Davis County Sheriff’s Office show that a total of four people were injured. Two victims were airlifted to area hospitals for care. One person was transported via ambulance while the fourth victim was transported via a private vehicle to a local hospital. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the explosion are under investigation.
