The outer rain bands of Hurricane Larry have started to affect Bermuda.
At 8 am AST, the US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said Larry’s centre of circulation was located 335 km east-southeast of Bermuda.
A tropical storm warning has been issued for the island.
Larry has maximum sustained winds that are near 100 mph (155 km/h).
The storm is expected to weaken during the next few days.
NHC has forecast that Larry’s centre should pass east of Bermuda today and move near or over southeastern Newfoundland, Canada on Friday night or early Saturday morning.
NHC expects Larry to be absorbed into a larger extratropical low east of Greenland on Monday.
