The New Jersey Appellate Division agreed this week that an attorney breached his duty by not filing a personal injury lawsuit within the statue of limitations, but reversed a $95,000 default judgment and remanded the decision to the trial court for a new damages hearing.
Plaintiff Arelis Parra, who claimed she suffered two lumbar herniations, a torn labrum of the left shoulder, and a partial tendon tear of the right shoulder from a February 2014 car crash, retained Francisco Guzman of the Guzman Law Practice to file a lawsuit for the amount of out-of-pocket medical expenses.
