Fans of both Viking mythology and God of War: Ragnarok are praising developer Sony Santa Monica for its accurate and well-researched depiction of Thor, the God of Thunder.
Following God of War: Ragnarok's first gameplay trailer, PlayStation released a handful of character images, confirmed the game's cast. Alongside series protagonist Kratos (voiced by Christopher Judge), the assets also confirmed that Thor will play a much larger role in the sequel to the 2018 PlayStation 4 exclusive God of War. Teased in the trailer via a shot of his powerful hammer Mjölnir, fans are expressing their enthusiasm for Thor's design which sticks much closer to how the god is described in traditional Viking mythology.
