Social media post prompts extra security at North Buncombe High School - WLOS

WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The Buncombe County Sheriff's office is investigating after a concerning social media post was brought to the attention of North Buncombe High School administrators Friday morning.

Buncombe County Schools officials said, out of an abundance of caution, extra SROs were on campus to ensure the safety and security of students and staff.

"We want to commend our students and parents who reached out to administrators with their concerns. Furthermore, we encourage our students to use social media wisely, and if they encounter something that makes them uncomfortable, to report it and not repost it. It is this type of action from our school family that keeps us all safe," officials said in a statement.
