You may have seen cakes on TikTok being decorated by CakeArtByAbby. But you may not have known that the creator behind the account is Abby Burke, of East Bridgewater. The local mother has 364,000 followers on TikTok and her videos have amassed nearly 4 million likes. Burke quit her full-time finance job in November 2020 to pursue her passion for baking cakes. She started baking as a hobby shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic began, but her fame on the social media app quickly led to a business venture.

Basketball clips go viral for Brockton native David Mak Thompson

David Mak Thompson's first basketball video playing with neighborhood kids at Ash Street Playground in Brockton received 7.1 million views on Facebook. It went viral around November 2020 and his life exploded from there. Thompson has since been featured on sports outlets such as ESPN's SportsCenter and theScore. His basketball clips have a comical twist that engage the audience.
