Social media giants are making millions from animal abuse, campaigners warn.

Animals for Asia says British sickos are third in a world league for uploading harrowing videos of creatures being tortured or killed.

Most of the horrors are filmed abroad but 29 nasties were shot here.

There have been five billion views of abuse on YouTube, Facebook and TikTok worldwide, according to investigators.

That means revenue of over 8million for YouTube alone, said researchers from the charity’s Social Media Animal Cruelty Coalition.

Adam Parascandola of Humane Society International said: “The devastating data revealed by this research only scratches the surface in exposing the shocking extent of animal cruelty on social media.”

In light of the report, YouTube axed two channels and removed 17 videos.

TikTok said it has taken down “a number of videos” that were highlighted.

Facebook added: “We will disable accounts, pages or groups that repeatedly break our rules.
