Seb Priaulx won two of the three Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by The Cayman Islands races Sept. 11-12 during the inaugural Porsche Sportscar Together Fest at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
British driver Priaulx won Race 1 Saturday and Race 3 Sunday afternoon on the IMS road course to expand his lead in the one-make Porsche championship. He leads Kelly-Moss Road and Race teammate Kay van Berlo, 231-192, with five rounds remaining in the 2021 season.
Former Road to Indy driver Parker Thompson won Race 2 for JDX Racing on Sunday morning.
Pole sitter Priaulx, son of three-time World Touring Car Championship champion Andy Priaulx, won Race 3 after Thompson lost the lead when he was forced to serve a drive-through penalty with 10 minutes remaining in the race for changing lanes at the start of the race.
Thompson beat pole winner Priaulx to the first turn in Race 2 and led the rest of the way. Priaulx led from wire to wire in Race 1 on Saturday, beating Thompson to the checkered flag by 4.3 seconds.
The three Porsche Carrera Cup North America races were the centerpiece of the Porsche Sportscar Together Fest, a three-day festival combining a celebration of car culture and of Porsche sports cars in all of their forms spanning seven decades. The fest also included themed, interactive displays of Porsche cars from the past, present and a little way into the future, with the very latest new models making their public debut.
