Man injured in crash | News, Sports, Jobs - Daily Mining Gazette

On Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at approximately 9:45 a.m., the Houghton County Sheriff’s Department investigated a one-car personal injury accident on Paradise Road near Pilgrim Road in Portage Township.
A vehicle being driven by an 18 year old Atlantic Mine man was traveling around a corner when he lost control and traveled across the roadway and into the ditch. The vehicle continued moving, striking driveway culvert and then a utility pole.
The driver of the vehicle was treated at the scene by Mercy Ambulance and transported to UP Health System – Portage for further treatment of his injuries, which were not life-threatening.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Hurontown Fire Department, UPPCO, Superior Service Towing and several bystanders. Seat belts were worn and neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.
