Public reminded to contact Flu Hotline if symptomatic | Loop Cayman Islands - Loop News Cayman

The Cayman Islands Health Services Authority (HSA) is advising persons with flu symptoms to stay at home and first contact the 24 hour Flu Hotline or your general practitioner to speak to a health professional about your symptoms prior to visiting the flu clinic.

Contact 1-800-534-8600, 345-947-3077, 345-925-6327 or flu@hsa.ky. Callers will be screened for travel history, advise on what you should do (e.g. come to the Flu Clinic, stay home in isolation, etc.)

If you are advised to go to the flu clinic, please remember to bring your own facemask as this is a requirement at all HSA locations.

Flu symptoms may include:

  • Fever
  • Sore throat
  • Cough
  • Runny nose
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Chills

If you experience worsening symptoms such as the below, call 911:

  • Sudden dizziness and confusion;
  • Severe or persistent vomiting;
  • Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen; or,
  • Difficulty breathing.

The dedicated Flu Clinic is open Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm located in the space previously occupied by the Outpatient Mental Health Unit, on the side of the hospital facing the Seventh Day Adventist Church, to the far left of A&E. Signage on the hospital campus will direct patients to the Clinic

For persons wanting a COVID PCR test, weather for travel or employment, persons are asked to book online at https://www.hsa.
