The Commission on Judicial Performance rebuked a Los Angeles County judge on Tuesday for posting “undignified, indecorous” and politically charged remarks on social media.

Superior Court Judge Michael O’Gara failed “to refrain from engaging in political activity that may create the appearance of political bias or impropriety” when he commented and liked posts on a Facebook account supporting the recall of Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón, the commission wrote in its discipline order. O’Gara was hearing criminal cases brought by the district attorney’s office at the time he posted online.
