Eagles Injury Report: Avonte Maddox newly added, 49ers get more bad news - Bleeding Green Nation

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report on Thursday in advance of their Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Six players were LIMITED PARTICIPANTS: Rodney McLeod, Zach Ertz, Brandon Brooks, Avonte Maddox, Marcus Epps, and J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.
McLeod being limited for the second day in a row isn’t necessarily the best sign for his playing chances. We’ll see how he does on Friday but it looks like he could miss another game.
Ertz and Brooks were both upgraded to limited participants after sitting out on Wednesday. The Eagles are managing them to get them to Sunday.
Maddox is a new addition to the injury report. He’s apparently dealing with some kind of knee issue. The Eagles will hope it’s not too serious so they’re not without their starting slot cornerback. Josiah Scott would typically be Maddox’s backup but he’s currently on injured reserve. Either new addition Andre Chachere or rookie defender Zech McPhearson could be the nickel defender if Maddox can’t play.
Epps was upgraded to limited after not practicing on Wednesday. He still needs to be officially cleared since he’s in the concussion protocol but it seems like he’s on track to play on Sunday. He could very well start again with McLeod potentially out.
JJAW was upgraded to limited after not practicing on Wednesday. Maybe he’ll suit up this week after all. The Eagles primarily used him as a blocker (PFF’s top graded blocking WR from Week 1! Meanwhile, DeVonta Smith was third...
