Giovannie Cruz is quickly becoming a household name with her recent roles in Warner Brothers/DC Comics' "The Suicide Squad," directed by James Gunn, and the sci-fi film "Reminiscence," alongside Hugh Jackman.

Cruz, an actress, filmmaker, and professional opera singer of Puerto Rican descent, will be playing the enigmatic character, “the Orloni Peddler,” a citizen of Knowhere, in the highly anticipated final installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe trilogy. Giovannie first appeared as this character in Marvel's special presentation, "The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special," alongside many of the Guardians, including newcomer, Maria Bakalova.

Anime fans will also recognize her voice from popular series such as "Beast Tamer" and "Aoashi," while television enthusiasts have seen her on "Queen of the South," "NCIS: New Orleans" and OWN's "Queen Sugar."

Cruz's work goes beyond the screen; through her personal coaching and public speaking, she helps the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. She is passionate about writing and acting in alternative stories for mainstream TV audiences.

"I am grateful to have been invited to join the incredible cast of 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' with director James Gunn, who I had the honor and pleasure of working with on 'The Suicide Squad,” says Cruz.

In addition to her upcoming role in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," Cruz will also be appearing in the up-and-coming fourth installment of the "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise, currently titled "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley," and the film "Suitable Flesh," starring Heather Graham and produced by ‘scream-queen’ Barbara Crampton.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" will pick up after the events of "Avengers: Endgame," focusing on the Guardians' mission to save Rocket's life. The recently released trailer gives hints that the story might be sad and that a beloved character might die. Director James Gunn has said that the movie will be “a good ending” to the journey of the well-known characters.

The addition of Giovannie Cruz to the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" cast adds another layer of depth to an already exceptional ensemble. As the Guardians go on their last adventure, fans can look forward to a thrilling and emotionally powerful ending to the trilogy.
