How many times have you heard, “What happens in this house stays in this house”? At a young age that simple phrase taught us to sweep unfavorable topics like mental health issues and trauma under the rug and never speak about them. Fortunately, writers like Dana Hicks Hungerford are lifting up the rug in hopes of changing the narrative surrounding mental health.
The stage play “A Woman’s Love” written and produced by Dana, is an emotional roller coaster that portrays just how powerful women can become when dealing with their mental health, trying to balance work and marriage, and overcoming obstacles that are seemingly insurmountable.
Dana’s goal is to help people from all walks of life understand that mental health is a serious global issue. She is passionate about her craft and this play and wants everyone to know, “I put my heart and soul into this story. Mental health is such an important topic that we need to continue to explore and discuss.”
“A Woman’s Love” stage play will be in Charlotte this Fall. Tickets will be on sale at the Knight Theater in Charlotte N.C. online at www.blumenthalarts.org
