Entertainment marketing pioneer Diana Dixon, CEO of DixonCo, was proud to announce the launch of ChangemakeHERS, a new non-profit women’s leadership organization, at its first-ever event on March 28th in Santa Monica, CA.
A lifelong dream of Dixon’s, the newly created non-profit organization is focused on Helping Each other Rise (H.E.R.).
Dixon said, “It’s incredible to have launched during Women’s History Month in this Historic Women’s Club that was founded by a suffragette. With the launch of ChangemakeHERS, we will be providing female leaders with the tools and resources they need to excel. We celebrate incredible women who are making an impact—and everyone is welcome in this community. It takes a village to help each other rise.”
The event featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including Gloria Feldt, Co-Founder & President of Take the Lead; Lara Richardson, Chief Marketing Officer of Hallmark Media; LaTasha Ezell, Senior Creative Director at Creative Studios, Scripps Networks; Helen Huang, Chief Empowerment Officer at Enrich Fiscal Fitness, Cathy Dimarchos, Global Business Advisor & Founder, Solutions2You; and Nicole Strong, Creative Director at National Geographic.
Dixon moderated the discussion, followed by a Q&A session with the audience. The night concluded with networking opportunities.
One attendee commented, “I got inspired and learned the answers to questions I didn’t even know I had.”
As part of the initiative, ChangemakeHERS will offer year-round events that provide inspiration, mentoring, networking, community and coaching — ultimately, helping women achieve their potential.
The next morning, ChangemakeHERS also hosted a Women’s Financial Workshop led by global business advisor Cathy Dimarchos—who flew in from Sydney, Australia—and Helen Huang of Enrich Fiscal Fitness—who is also recognized as the first film acquisitions executive of Asian descent in U.S. television history.
Dixon’s commitment to women breaking through barriers in male-dominated fields led to the creation of DixonCo in 2008, a leading Los Angeles-based creative agency that produces captivating content while celebrating diversity.
Most recently, she launched Dixon Originals, their content production and development arm. Her team is made up of passionate storytellers who “give a damn about doing good in the world” and about making a difference—one project at a time.
Dixon comments, "In a field where only 32% of leadership positions are held by women, it's essential to create opportunities for access, growth and collaboration.”
Ashley St. Pierre, executive producer at DixonCo, has been instrumental in helping Dixon bring the vision into reality. Her expertise in creative services and client relations has facilitated DixonCo's rise as a prominent creative agency, and also enabled the inception of ChangemakeHERS.
St. Pierre adds, "ChangemakeHERS is our way of providing a platform for women to learn from one another and foster lasting connections that can change lives."
With a clear focus on promoting gender diversity and equal opportunities, Diana Dixon and her team are taking proactive steps to make a difference in the world.
