Tara Troy releases a "Cancer Survivor" apparel line and crowdfunds for her film "A Moment in Time," based on her cancer journey.

Filmmaker Tara Troy

Tara Troy, an award-winning filmmaker, actor, and two-time cancer survivor, today announced the launch of the Tara Troy Cancer Survivor Celebration Collection—a line of apparel aimed at celebrating the resilience of cancer survivors.

Troy says, "Surviving anything should be celebrated. My clothing line embodies this spirit of celebration. I want to honor not just my journey, but the journeys of all those who have battled cancer."

The clothing line proudly features the powerful words: "Cancer Survivor" across the chest, aiming to reduce the stigma around cancer patients, celebrate the strength of those who survive, and honor those who didn't.

The Tara Troy Cancer Survivor Celebration Collection includes unisex adult t-shirts, sweatshirts, a women's racerback tank, along with toddler, kids, and youth t-shirts. Ten percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance. The collection is available on Etsy.

This announcement coincides with the launch of her crowdfunding campaign for her forthcoming short film, "A Moment in Time." The film is inspired by Troy's personal journey and the universal experience of dealing with loss and grief.

The film explores the emotional toll of losing a loved one, a story inspired by her own experience of losing her father to lung cancer. Afterward, Troy herself faced battles with thyroid and Stage 3 colon cancer. Her compelling narrative is a testament to her resilience and dedication to raising awareness around these crucial issues.

"A Moment in Time" is being funded through a crowdfunding campaign launching in early August on Seed & Spark, with a goal of raising $20,000.00. The campaign aims to cover all the film's production costs, including cast, crew, and wardrobe, with plans to shoot in New York City in early fall.

The pandemic and Tara's personal journey with cancer have fueled her passion for creating a story that is not only deeply personal but also universally resonant. Troy believes that her film, clothing line, and campaign, will spark important conversations around loss, grief, and healing, while also celebrating survival and resilience.

"We all have a story to tell," Troy said. "My journey has been marked by personal tragedies and triumphs, and I believe it's important to share that with the world."
