GARLAND — More than 100 jobs are expected to be filled over the course of a year when the Garland Shirt Company building reopens, starting later this month or in early September.
Sampson County commissioners on Monday approved a revolving loan fund of $75,000 for Garland Apparel Group, the company that will occupy the facility bought in June by Cayenne Acquisitions Group. The cut-and-sew factory has previously been home to Brooks Brothers.
The first year is expected to yield 120 new jobs at Garland Apparel, and more than 180 by the end of the third year, company officials have said.
The company is expected to have production for branded shirts of multiple designers, military shirts, and add personal protective equipment to its product line.
