New approach
Former Tech offensive coordinator David Yost had the Red Raiders operating almost exclusively out of 11 personnel - one running back, one tight end - over the past two years.
Two-back formations and even a running back shifting into the slot will be in the playbook, at least. The Red Raiders return their top four running backs from 2020.

Scouting report
Running back Kyron Cumby, who joined the team this week as a walk-on transfer from Illinois, took an official visit to Tech and received a scholarship offer from the Red Raiders when he was a high-school standout at Plano.
"He's a versatile kid," running backs coach DeAndre Smith said. "Cam Watts can run. Marquis Waters can run, so we've got a lot of speed in the secondary." ... The Red Raiders will scrimmage for about 120 plays on Saturday.
