Teachers educate children on how to deal with emotions by watching YouTube videos, talking about specific situations, and dealing with themselves.

Garland, Texas — This year is a difficult year for many of us, especially for the children who have returned to the classroom. I wanted to know about WFAA, but what are local schools doing to keep their students comfortable?

Behind Room 406 of Cisneros pre-K in Garland is a group of lucky children who are happy to return to the classroom.

“I have lunch and light meals,” said 4-year-old Nicteha Villalon.

Teachers educate children on how to deal with emotions by watching YouTube videos, talking about specific situations, and dealing with themselves.

Teachers are not only talking about their feelings, but also actively working by writing them down in their diary.

“I feel happy every time,” said Villalon.

And feeling happy comes from a happy classroom.

Neakaego Oriji, facilitator of the entire Garland Independent School District, said:

“It’s important for us to pull out all the students,” Oriji said.
