David Feinberg has left his post as the leader of Google Health for health care record giant Cerner Corporation after just over two years on the job. Feinberg, a health care veteran with a history of overseeing hospital systems including UCLA Health and Pennsylvania-based Geisinger, is joining Cerner as president and chief executive officer on Oct. 1. As Google Health’s first vice president, Feinberg oversaw the company’s far-reaching international health efforts — which spanned initiatives at Alphabet life science spinout Verily, artificial intelligence company DeepMind, and Google Health, among others. Under his tenure, Google acquired Fitbit, signed and expanded a controversial pilot project with hospital chain Ascension using patient data, launched a research app to let Android users participate in health studies, and oversaw early work on patient health records.
