COVID-19 is surging in Garland. Here’s where to get the vaccine locally this week - The Dallas Morning News

COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Garland. Since July 14, active cases of the virus have increased more than 1,100% percent in the city. Across North Texas, few ICU beds remain available.

To help combat the spread of COVID-19, Garland ISD and the Garland Health Department are hosting several vaccine clinics at Garland ISD high schools from Aug. 23 to Sept. 2.

The free vaccine clinics are open to parents, students and staff of Garland ISD from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at eight locations in the district. Vaccines are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Appointments are not required.

Here’s when and where to get the vaccine this week in Garland for students, staff and parents of Garland ISD:

  • Aug. 25 at Sachse High School from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Aug. 26 at Garland High School from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Aug. 27 at Naaman Forest High School from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Aug. 30 at North Garland High School from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Aug. 31 at South Garland High School from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Sept. 1 at Lakeview Centennial High School from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Sept. 2 at the Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Center from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Those who are not staff, students or parents of Garland ISD can receive a vaccine or booster shot without an appointment at the city’s Public Health Clinic at 206 Carver Drive. The clinic is distributing COVID-19 vaccines from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
