NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — Authorities in Nelson County say they are looking into messages circulating on social media.
In a Facebook post, the Sheriff's Office says it received "numerous" reports and is actively investigating.
They don't say specifically what the posts are about.
But say they are "doing our best to track down all sources."
This is after Nelson County Public Schools posted on their Facebook page that they heard there are plans for a protest or demonstration at the school.
Officials say they do not support this during the school day.
They say, "we will open up the auditorium during lunch to allow for a productive conversation and give our students a chance to voice their concerns."
Nelson County public schools were closed Friday, citing an "altercation" between students.
