Houston social media influencer's alleged murderer identified - Houston Chronicle

The suspect who allegedly killed a social media influencer before killing himself has been identified by the Richmond Police Department.

According to a news release from the department, Kevin Alexander Accorto, 34, has been identified as the suspect who killed Jenae Gagnier, known as “Miss Mercedes Morr” online. Gaginer, 33, has more than 2.6 million followers on Instagram along with thousands of followers on Twitter and Facebook.

Accorto is believed to be from Florida with no previous personal contact with Gagnier. According to Florida state records, his last-known address was in DeLand, Florida, near Orlando.

“The cause of death for the victim and Accorto will be released directly from the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner’s Office,” according to a news release from Richmond Police Public Information Officer Lt. Lowell Neinast. “As this is an ongoing investigation, no more information will be released at this time.”

Gagnier’s body was discovered about 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at her home in the Cortland Apartments at 5200 Pointe West Circle. Officers were responding to a welfare check at the complex about 3:48 p.m. Sunday.
