MVFC Against the FBS
Following Indiana State's Week Zero game against Eastern Illinois, MVFC teams will face five FBS foes the first week of the season. ISU is 11-1 in the first game of the season at Hancock Stadium, which includes a home opening win over Butler by a score of 45-0 in 2017.

The UND defense averaged 3.43 sacks per game during the Spring 2021 season and returns 23 of their 24 sacks from a season ago. Since the opening game of the 2009 season at Marshall, the Salukis are 2-6 when they open the season on the road. The last time SIU opened a season with a road victory was August 30, 2018 when it won 49-10 at Murray St. The Salukis are 5-7 all time when they open the season at SEMO.
