A 22-year-old who police say was drinking and driving when he hit a pedestrian, then fled the scene, has been arrested and jailed Thursday.
As KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh reports, the suspect is Braden Chetsko of Monroeville, Allegheny County.
He stands accused of fleeing the scene of a fatal car-vs.-pedestrian crash that occurred just after 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday on the 2700 block of Mosside Boulevard in Monroeville.
Monroeville Police tell KDKA a 50-year-old man had been hit by a car.He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The police investigation quickly traced the suspect vehicle to Chetsko, who was jailed on charges of homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, involuntary manslaughter, accidents involving death or personal injury while DUI, failure to render aid, among other counts.
The victim has been identified as James Scandrick, 50, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
According to WTAE-TV, Scandrick was struck by more than one vehicle, the county medical examiner’s office has said.
Police are now asking anyone with information on the incident to call the county police tip line at 833-ALL-TIPS (833-255-8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
