The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) reported that on August 31, a traffic collision occurred on Shedden Road in George Town. One pedestrian was involved and officers responded to the scene.
According to the RCIPS report, the pedestrian was struck by what is described as a green SUV which fled the scene after hitting the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the George Town Hospital with serious injuries and was reportedly in a critical but stable condition.
The RCIPS release noted that the matter is currently under investigation by the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit and anyone who may have seen the incident or have any information on the vehicle involved is asked to contact the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254.
