Iowa doctor Lance Van Gundy uses social media to encourage vaccination and COVID cases continue to surge among Delta variants - Floridanewstimes.com

Marshalltown, Iowa-Because COVID cases continue to surge across the United States Delta variant, Iowa doctors used social media to encourage vaccinations.

He began by saying, “I feel like I wasn’t working if I didn’t say anything.”

Lance VanGundy is an ER Medical Director and ER Physician at Unitypoint Health in Marshalltown, Iowa.

He goes on to warn of the spread of false information about viruses and vaccines.

“We are drowning in people who have died of this disease, and I have not yet admitted one because of a vaccine-related incident,” he said. “For more than 20 years since I did this, I’ve never been so busy, stressed, or seen so many sick people.”

Van Gundy also pointed out that the ICU beds are full of COVID patients, so there is no room for others who may need to be admitted to the hospital for reasons other than COVID.

“If I have a mild illness and give it to someone else, it’s a hospital bed where I can’t have a hip fracture or heart attack,” he said.

The video was posted on his Facebook page on September 2nd.
