Labor Day felt like a good day for one more college football contest to finish off the weekend, but the action in Atlanta has not been great.
With the game between Louisville and Ole Miss approaching halftime, Ole Miss currently holds a solid 23-0 lead over the Cardinals. However, the lopsided score has not been the ugliest part of the game.
The action on the field has been interrupted multiple times to review a handful of penalties. The culprit? Multiple targeting calls coming on both sides of the contest.
In total, 4 targeting penalties were reviewed and upheld with 4 players receiving ejections from the game. Some of the hits were questionable, but the constant delay in action and multiple ejections have fans on social media sounding off about the current landscape surrounding the targeting rule.
