The Arizona Cardinals made a loud opening statement to the 2021 season.
They not only defied the odds but smashed them as they trounced the Tennessee Titans in Nashville, 38-13, on Sunday. The Titans were initially favored to win the game by 3.
Cardinals outside linebacker Chandler Jones tied the franchise record and reaching his career-high five sacks and added two forced fumbles on Titans QB Ryan Tannehill. And Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray threw a career-best four TDs and rushed for one.
Also, the Cardinals defense held the reputed bulldozing running back Derrick Henry to just 58 yard on 17 carries.
Some would consider this an upset victory for the Cardinals over the playoff contender Titans. But not to the Cardinals defensive lineman coach Brentson Buckner.
He tweeted his reaction about people who expected the Cardinals to lose to the Titans.
