DERBY — Derby High and Middle schools were put on lockdown Tuesday after police were notified of a social media post, according to Lt. Salvatore Frosceno with the Derby Police Department.
Details were scarce on what happened Tuesday, but Frosceno said the post was put up Monday and “prompted today’s response.”
The post pertained to the high school, but since the middle school is in the same complex, it went under lockdown as well, Frosceno said.
The student who posted the material that caused the lockdown was identified and located. Police are working with school administration on “proper action plans,” Frosceno said.
A representative of the Derby Public Schools was not immediately available to comment.
