What you post online matters and can have dire consequences if you’re not careful.
It’s something bestselling author of 'Crisis Averted' and CEO of Red Banyan, Evan Nierman, wants parents to bring up in conversation with their kids.
In his line of work, Nieman has witnessed quite a few social media crises among kids and teens. From divulging personal information online that could put their life in danger, to a teen becoming the subject of child pornography charges after circulating a nude photo to a friend.
Nierman explains if your child has access to social media, the conversation needs to happen. Talk to your child to make sure he or she understands the consequences of posting online.
And to protect themselves, there are two helpful tips: share with care and post with purpose.
