The Philadelphia Eagles issued their first official injury report on Wednesday in advance of their Week 2 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Five players DID NOT PARTICIPATE in practice: Zach Ertz, Brandon Brooks, Marcus Epps, Ryan Kerrigan, J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.
Ertz suffered a hamstring injury in Week 1. The Eagles are taking it light on him so that he’s able to play in Sunday’s game.
Brooks was limited in practice last week. The Eagles are taking a similar approach to him as they are with Ertz.
Epps is in the concussion protocol. He was doing some work on a side field while the rest of the team practiced, which suggests he’s closer to returning than not. He might be cleared in time to play on Sunday. Epps might start again at safety.
Kerrigan missed practice due to undisclosed personal reasons. Guessing he’ll be back tomorrow or Friday.
JJAW was described as “day-to-day” by Nick Sirianni. The Eagles’ decision to use a practice squad protection on Craig James, who can help on special teams, could point to JJAW missing this week’s game.
Seven players were LIMITED PARTICIPANTS: Rodney McLeod, Miles Sanders, Fletcher Cox, Brandon Graham, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, and Darius Slay.
McLeod was limited all of last week before being ruled out on the final injury report. He still might not be ready to play; we’ll have to see how he progresses this week. Probably not the best sign if he’s limited again on Thursday.
