Knightdale, NC (September 15, 2021) – Around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, September 15, a tractor-trailer crash occurred in Knightdale.
According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of US-64 around exit 436. A man was traveling in his sedan in the area when it suddenly struck a tractor-trailer due to reasons that are not yet known. Police confirmed that traffic was slowed at the time and the driver of the sedan might not have noticed. The vehicle immediately flipped over around the accident site, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The man driving the sedan was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. His current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area for several hours until police were able to completely clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
